Ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy is certain that his former team has two players who can save this season in its rank. Liverpool are under the spotlight after the recent poor run in all competitions especially in the league. Danny Murphy spoke to Talk Sports about Liverpool and their recent struggles to get results. According to him, club captain Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip are crucial to Reds saving their season from collapsing completely.

Danny Murphy has urged Reds boss JurgenKlopp to ensure that the duo of Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson are fit for the remainder of the season. Cameroonian defender Joel Matipis the only fit senior central defender at Liverpool at the moment and his fitness is crucial to the Reds as it allows club skipper Jordan Henderson to move into midfield to boost the Reds’ creativity.

Liverpool boss JurgenKlopp has had tomove Jordan Henderson to partner fellow midfielder Fabinho at the heart of the defence in recent games due to the absence of Joel Matip. Klopp has two young defenders in his squad in Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Philip but the Liverpool managerhas shown that he doesn’t trust them. Rhys William played together with Fabinho in central defence during the FA Cup game at Manchester United on Sunday as Joel Matip was rested for the upcoming league matches, while club captain Jordan Henderson was injured.

Without Matip and Henderson, Liverpool lose a 1-0 lead to lose 3-2 at the hands of the home team. Manchester United were able to progress into the FA Cup fifth round at the expense of Liverpool after the win recorded at the end of the game played at the Theatre of Dreams. Liverpool have won just one of the last seven matches in all competitions but they have the chance to return to form ahead of the visit to North London to face Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham Hotspur players.
