GERRARD: FOCUS

Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool captain, does not believe that Chelsea will be ready after making it to the Champions League final when the Blues walk out for the FA Cup final on Saturday at the Wembley Stadium.

The London Premier League club will confront Bayern Munich on 19th May at the Allianz Arena as the bid to grab the European football’s most coveted title for the very first time. Along with that they are also expecting to secure the top – 4 finish in the English Premier League standings that will give them a direct entry into the next season’s Champions’ League.

Even though Liverpool’s job was made quite tough by their defeat against Newcastle on Wednesday, their captain anticipates Roberto di Matteo’s team to be focused on their FA Cup final match.

The England midfielder told that he is quite sure that the Stamford Bridge side will think of top – 4 once the match begins on Sunday. Chelsea are an experienced side and they are full of quality footballers and it will go down to the tiny details on that day – who gets huge decisions and who get a bit of luck. He does not think that there is a huge difference between them and Blues.

He also thinks that this game will help them as they could not do much in the league this season and nothing is going right for his team, therefore this time they can concentrate on this game. Liverpool were anticipated to at least pose a challenge for the top – 4 spots, but they are well short of points.
