Barcelona believes they can clinch a cut-price deal for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The Catalan giants believe an offer of around £ 40 million will be enough to tempt the Merseyside giants to part with their talismanic striker after his biting shame at the World Cup in Brazil.
The news comes in at a time when the Spanish is widely reporting that the player’s lawyer is already in Spain negotiating terms over a possible move to Spain and Barcelona as the Uruguayan looks to escape the English media that has hounded him ever since the racist abuse allegedly meted out to Manchester United left back Patrice Evra.
FIFA banned Suarez for nine matches with Uruguay as well as all football related activities for the next four months, meaning that he will miss the opening thirteen games of the season for Liverpool, which include crunch matches against champions Manchester City as well as Tottenham Hotspur.
There were question marks regarding the ban and how it would affect a possible transfer but FIFA has since clarified that the player can move clubs if he chooses to during this time.
Barcelona will be more than happy to sign Suarez and only want him to apologize for the bite in public and they think this incident has pushed him closer to the exit door of Anfield than they had imagined.
They believe Liverpool will be willing to do business for the player if the price is right as they look to maintain their image and are plotting an ambitious swoop for a price that is almost half of what the club had initially claimed it would take to make them sell.
However, with an appeal on the cards, things could still change and Barcelona hope to get the deal done as soon as possible.
