WHAT KLOPP NEEDS TO DO

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp waltzed into the team with much fanfare.

In the later part of his first season, he built up so much expectation at Anfield. He helped the Reds dream again after too many disappointments. However the dream is yet to turn into silverware, till date.

The Liverpool squad needs more spine as they are decent to an extent. A strong defender who is actually good would be helpful. A holding midfielder, who would allow the playmaker push forward, is essential and then a consistent proven striker to finish off the moves.

Most of the players are injury prone. This played a large part in killing off the momentum last season. The inconsistencies the team showed this season ended is laughable. They can defeat the league leaders away then lose to the small boys at home in the following game.

With Dominic Solanke set to join the team, Klopp needs to look for more. More!

They need a top left back to rescue James Milner from the forced role he plays in the team. While the team is attack inclined, they need to be balance to get anything tangible at the end of the season. It would be very difficult for Liverpool to get the players they want but so would it be difficult for them to get titles at the end of the day.

Klopp has revealed that he has a sizable budget to deliver top talents but picking them out and negotiating successfully would be crucial to his success next term. They are targeting Mohammed Salah from Roma, Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk and Michael Keane. There are others like Monaco’s KylianMbappe which is just ambitious at best, Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita.

Tough times for Klopp, but there were never easy ones.
