Liverpool beat Villarreal to earn a place in the Europa League final

Liverpool managed to produce an outstanding display to help them beat Villarreal and secure a place in the Europa League final.

Again they will have to face Spanish opposition in Sevilla, but they will take confidence in the way they brush aside Villareal to win the game 3-0.

The game started well for Liverpool after Bruno Soriano scored an own goal to put the game leveled on aggregate. It all began with a Clyne cross that found Firmino. The latter headed the ball back into the danger area, but it was missed by Sturridge who was starting the game after having missed the first leg. Soriano could not clear the danger and instead bundled the ball in the back of his own net.

Liverpool were on fire after the goal and conceded to press for a second goal. The visitors could not cope with the intense pressure by Liverpool, which have become their trademark under Jurgen Klopp. Villareal could not cope with the intensity shown by the locals and began to grow frustrated.

Soldado was guilty of fouling two Liverpool players in the space of a few minutes. First, it will be DejanLovren who will face a tough challenge from the former Tottenham player and then it was Coutinho. This was clearly signs of frustration as the Spanish team failed to cope with the pressure of the home side.

Sturridge managed to score a goal in the 63rd minute following a precise through ball from Firmino. This was a well-deserved goal for Sturridge, who was back in the team.

However in the 71st minute, Villareal will have a player sent off because of a second bookable offence. This will definitely end the match as a contest and Lallana will score another goal for Liverpool to secure the victory.

JurgenKlopp needs time to make his claim in Anfield

Losing to West Ham United and then 15 days later, losing against Manchester United aren’t easy defeats to sustain but these are the kind of results that Liverpool have been going through and criticism have already been deployed to JurgenKlopp who was appointed as the head coach of the English club less than 6 months ago.

The recent loss that Liverpool experienced against Manchester United was a frustrating one as the team of JurgenKlopp was the better team and they actually performed at a high level but still couldn’t avoid losing against Manchester United with Wayne Rooney scoring the only goal of the entire game which sealed all 3 points for the squad of Louis van Gaal.

Liverpool has one of the worst shot to goal ratio’s in the entirety of the Premier League and this is evidence of just how much the players of JurgenKlopp have been struggling to score goals. Their match against Manchester United was a clear example of how much Liverpool has been struggling to finish off games and score goals consistently.

JurgenKlopp’s men launched a total of 19 shots and 4 of them were on target meanwhile Manchester United fired 7 shots with only 1 of those actually being on target but even though it was only 1 shot, it was all that the visiting team needed to seal the victory.

Injuries is another thing that has troubled Liverpool in this season as JurgenKlopp has had to utilize his back-up players for a number of games due to his key figures being unable to play.

Although Liverpool have clearly not been in the best shape of their lives, the performances in the team of JurgenKlopp are better than what they used to be even though the results have not shown it. A loss against Manchester United is not what Liverpool deserved as they were the overall better team but due to poor finishing, they couldn’t seal the deal.
