Salah Wins a Thriller for Liverpool

It was a wonderful night for football as Liverpool edged past FC Red Bull Salzburg in a 4-3 thriller in Anfield.

Sadio Mane started the proceeding for Liverpool even before the clock could reach 10 minutes mark with a fantastic finish. Andrew Robertson added up to the tally in the 25th minute and then it was Mohamed Salah who scored Liverpool’s third in the 36th minute. Liverpool was comfortably ahead with three goals advantage in front of the home crowd. However, Hwang Hee-chan struck just minutes later to reduce the gap to 3-1. Liverpool was criticized for their carefree manner of playing in the second half as Red Bull came from behind twice to level the score. For them, Takumi Minamino scored in the 56th minute and Erling Braut Haland scored in the 60th minute on the match. The game was set at 3-3. It took nine minutes and Mo Salah to produce magic again in the Anfield to win the game for the Reds. The final score remains at 4-3 in favor of the Reds.

Salah was the top-rated player for Liverpool with 8 out of a possible 10 points. Sadio Mane was not far behind though as he scored 7.9 points. Out of the attacking three, only Firmino did not score last night but he made up for that by three assists. He scored at 7.6. In another quite astonishing fact was Virgil van Dijk was the lowest-rated player of Liverpool. He scored 5.6 which do not reflect the normal standards he has for the Reds.

The result left Group E open with Liverpool in the second position. They have 3 points from 2 games. Napoli is leading the group with 4 points after a surprising draw against KRC Genk. Salzburg is at the third position also with 3 points. Liverpool next faces Genk in an away match in Belgium.
